Cynthia Marsh

Cynthia Marsh is a narrative artist. She uses wood type and letterpress printing to begin conversations that take form as books, broadsides, and printed environments. Marsh founded the Goldsmith Press @ APSU (1997) to encourage community members to tell their stories and express their opinions. Her artist books are in national collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, LA County Museum, Bowdoin College, Emory University, Otis College of Art + Design, the University of Florida, Visual Studies Workshop, and Wellesley College,

In 2022, Marsh moved to the coast of Maine where she reignited her imprint, Studio One Eye Open. Her creative practice reads like a book exposed to the elements. The pages keep turning, taking note of change, and capturing fragments of information that pass overhead.
